Farmers doing organic and natural farming earn lakhs of rupees every year by selling carbon
credits.
Organic producer farmers do not only produce organic farming produce, along with this farmer
produce carbon credits, that is, they generate indirect benefits to nature due to organic farming.
The natural benefits generated from organic farming are sold through carbon training.
This one unit is sold at the rate of $10 to $90.
Example- On doing 10000 units of carbon credit per acre/year by organic/natural farming, the
farmer can get an additional income of Rs.1 to 9 lakhs. Its prices are increasing every year due to
industrial requirement.
But to sell it, the necessary audit and eco system protocol has to be followed. Satpuda Jaivik
Producer Company is working in the direction of preparing this eco system.
Farmers who want to earn profit by selling the carbon credits produced become members of the
Satpuda Jaivik Producers Company.
With the help of APEDA, the plan to construct the Madhya Pradesh's first FPO's Integrated Pack House is under process, which is leading to complete the plan of this pack house in Satpuda Jaivik, Khandwa. So that the farmers of the district will be able to export their vegetables.
